IＨＵＯＭＡ lingerie | IHUOMA is a high-end underwear label that features designs that highlight the attractiveness of contemporary Black women. The goal is to help black women feel safe enough to embrace their sensuality, empower themselves to live authentically, and discover their divine femininity.
The designs aim to celebrate the natural beauty of Black women while delving into themes of self-love, empowerment, and sensuality. The ultimate goal is to help women feel amazing in their own skin. Established by a Black woman, IHUOMA is primarily a high-end label catering to Black women, however it is not limited to them. All ladies who want a deeper connection to their divine feminine soul will find what they’re looking for in these collections.
Debut collection Divine Feminine centers on a deeper nude tone and has embroidered French tulle and luxury silks in deep tonal colors with gold and bronze accents. The custom embroidery was created by my daughter A’isha, Annabelle Mu’azu, and myself as a tribute to the Egyptian Ankh. The ankh represents vitality, love, and life; it is both a symbol of femininity and a symbol of masculinity, and it serves as a constant reminder to the women who wear IHUOMA that they are goddesses in the modern sense.
In what ways is IHUOMA unique?

I wanted to do things differently because my artistic side wanted to. I wanted to make something luxury using great fabrics and the finest materials & components that will match and highlight our glorious melanin tones. I wanted to produce ART because WE, Black Women, are ART!
I wanted to develop unique needlework that spoke (to the culture and) to our spirit, like love letters from our ancestors – inspiring us with wisdom, grace, love. Lingerie and lounge pieces that you would want to preserve for an eternity & eventually pass on to your daughters, knowing that they would do the same to their children — designs that would become knitted into one’s genealogy almost. Lingerie that you would adorn for great events, spent with SELF, as well as your partners.
My objective was to make lyrical lingerie that versed our stories and danced with our senses. Creations that you would fall in love with again & again. That conveyed stories, or conjured moods, reminders of far off exotic places or a comforting space in time ~ wherever home is to you ~ wonderful moments of pure love. This is what I hope to evoke in my collections….
My designs are not just luxury lingerie but your higher spirit engulfing you with love, an expression of your identity and divinity, since of all women, black women are lovely and deserving of beauty & art caressing their skin & encircling their essence ~ we are Feminine Divine.
