Estelle Colored Glass | Estelle Colored Glass is a high-end brand that makes cake stands and stemware out of hand-blown colored glass in a range of jewel tones and soft colors. The Estelle Colored Glass line is made up of custom-made pieces made by glass artists in Poland at a company that has been making glass for more than 100 years. The best way to describe Estelle Colored Glass pieces is as “jewels for your table.” We just hope that our collection of colored glass that looks like it came from the past but is also polished and up-to-date starts a trend of using colored glass again.

My grandmother, Estelle, was the inspiration for Estelle Colored Glass. She loved antiques and had a special day of the week when she went to her favorite shops in small South Carolina towns to look for new gems. From the time I was a little kid until I was in college, I got to go on a lot of these prize hunts during the summer. My favorite collection that she was always adding to was her colored glass collection. This is when I first fell in love with colored glass.

At Sunday dinners, my grandma used her colored glass pieces a lot. She was well-known as an amazing cook and every course was delicious. Every Sunday, she made a homemade treat for her family and friends who would often stop by for an afternoon visit. Her signature treat was a from scratch decadent vanilla pound cake often beautifully displayed on a colored glass cake stand and served with a side of strawberry jello topped with whipped cream. The soft pound cake, cold jello, and rich whipped cream went very well together.

Under my grandmother’s tutelage, I learned my first basic cooking techniques all the while spending invaluable time side by side with her in the kitchen and accompanying her on shopping trips. Most of all, I am indebted to her for showing me the gift of being a fine hostess.

I hope our heirloom quality pieces help create special memories for you just like the memories I have of time spent with my grandma, Estelle, affectionately also known as “Big Mama.”
