It all began in 2018, while Terrelle was an architecture student at The Spitzer School of Architecture at City College. When his friends in the event planning industry needed custom props for their projects, Terrelle, with his keen eye for design and knack for construction, stepped up to help. What started as a simple favor quickly evolved into a side hustle, a way to earn a little extra money while honing his craft. He began showcasing his creations on Instagram, and soon, his unique, custom-made props caught the attention of other event planners across New York City.
Building a New Path
After graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Terrelle found himself at a crossroads. Unsure of his next move, he took some time to reflect before landing a job as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist. While the world navigated the challenges of the pandemic, Terrelle continued to work on his passion projects on the side. When event restrictions began to lift, the demand for his custom props surged, transforming his side hustle into a full-fledged business opportunity.
Seizing this moment, Terrelle officially established PS Event Decor as an LLC in February 2021, and the very next month, he made the courageous decision to leave his job as a Machinist to dedicate himself to his company full-time.
