A Taste of DC: Our Story

Growing up in Washington, D.C., our founder, Arsha Jones, had a taste for something special—the city’s iconic mambo sauce. This sweet, tangy, and sticky condiment was more than just a sauce; it was a taste of home. After moving to the Maryland suburbs, Arsha found herself missing that familiar flavor. To bring a little bit of D.C. to her new home, she started making her own mambo sauce in her kitchen for her family.

It wasn’t long before her boys, and everyone who tasted it, agreed: this sauce was something truly special.

From Our Kitchen to Yours

In 2011, Capital City, LLC, was born. As a minority and family-owned business, we started with a simple mission: to share the authentic taste of D.C. mambo sauce with the world. We began as a small, home-based operation, but with the support of our community, we’ve grown into a successful company, providing a beloved product from our childhood to people everywhere.

More Than Just a Sauce

Mambo sauce isn’t just for wings. It’s a versatile condiment that’s perfect for grilling, dipping, and adding a kick to your favorite meals. Our flagship product, Mild Mambo Sauce, was the first commercially bottled version, bringing that classic flavor to homes far and wide.

Today, you can find our sauces at various retail locations throughout the D.C. area, from grocery stores to specialty shops. We’re also proud to be the “house” wing sauce for several local restaurants, helping them serve up a taste of D.C. to their customers.

Our Mission

At Capital City, our mission is to spice up kitchens across America. We want to be the first choice for anyone looking for a delicious alternative to ketchup or a way to bring a little bit of D.C. to their dishes. We’re passionate about our product and honored to share a taste of our hometown with you.
