Black Pepper Paperie Co. is a Washington, DC-based art and design studio specializing in decorative arts. Our offerings include ceramic objects, surface design, and visual art.

BBPCo. was established with a passion for creating and inspiring others. Since its inception in 2017, the studio has grown from a hobby-based maker business to a full-time decorative art and design studio. We’ve licensed with various companies all over the world such as F. Schumacher Co. (NY), Lulu and Georgia (CA), Brewster (MA), and WALPA (Japan), AARP (DC) and Meta (CA).

Focusing on hand-made ceramic objects, surface pattern design, and wall art, Black Pepper Paperie Co. is an art-centered practice inspired by the exploration of the African diaspora and the relationship between history, cultural memory, migration, and ritual.
