Founded in 2020 by Marsha and Richard Skinner, Black Owned Elite was born from a simple yet profound observation: too many exceptional Black-owned brands were not getting the exposure they deserved. We noticed that a lack of business marketing knowledge, product design expertise, or general business consulting often prevented high-end entrepreneurs from reaching their full potential.

Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for excellence. We are more than just a business directory; we are a curated community built on the philosophy of “Boss up and make your brand better.” This means a relentless focus on elevating every aspect of a business—from better websites and exquisite product design to top-tier branding and labels.

We believe that true exposure comes from true quality. That’s why our application process is more rigorous than most, ensuring that every brand in our community is a testament to excellence. We’ve partnered with Brand 305, a premier Black-owned marketing agency from South Florida, to provide our members with the tools they need to succeed. Through this partnership, we now offer a comprehensive suite of services, including website design, business consulting, brand audits, and targeted marketing campaigns.

We provide the connections, resources, and guidance necessary for entrepreneurs to refine their businesses and confidently take their next steps toward success.
