Franks Footwear, Inc was established in 2015 with one goal in mind: to bring our clients the most unique footwear from around the world right to their doorsteps. Also, our idea and strategy is to empower the capacity of production of the bespoke service and imbue the virtues of the bespoke service into a state of the art ready-to-wear. This is our (developing) story.

Artisan Shoe Construction Methods

There are three basic methods of shoe construction: cementing, Blake welting, and Goodyear welting. For our Mens Dress collection, we use both Blake and Original Goodyear welting methods. Each of them has its advantages, and defines how the sole is attached to the upper. When talking about high-end footwear, the Goodyear Welt is often contrasted with the Blake stitch. With the Blake stitch, the upper is sewn directly to the sole, and it generally creates a more flexible type of shoe. On the other side, Original Goodyear Welting process has been associated with excellence and superior workmanship, involving +50 craftsmen and +100 handcrafted phases on each pair.

The Art of Handmade Patina

Patina is an art crafted and designed for shoes by Olga Berluti in the 80’s. She thought nothing was more beautiful than a shoe burnished by time itself, a shoe whose color was partly worn away. “Only those possess a soul,” she said.Our patina technique, provided by Mario Rodriguez, one of the best patina artists of the country, starts with a very specific type of crust leather. Colors are given by hand, applying natural pigments, and using different types of handmade techniques, to create different textures.

The factory is a family owned facility that has over 50 years’ experience. The care and thought in the design process is key. Our goal is to make the most beautiful and comfortable shoes that not only provide confidence, but also accompany you in this journey of life. Our Shoes capture the modern day woman!

Our shoemakers have designed shoes for Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Cleo Bottier, and Neiman Marcus. They also have collaborated on design projects in the past with Balenciaga, Chanel, Gucci, Jean Claude Jitrois, Ralph Lauren, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Christian Lacroix, Hermes, Bill Blass, Richard Tyler, Joyce Echols and Calvin Klein.

Our shoemakers have been commissioned by some of the most notable celebrities to custom design their shoes. They have made shoes for Oprah Winfrey, Madonna, Julia Roberts, Sharon Stone, Julia Louis – Dreyfus , Natasha Richardson, Tina Turner, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez , Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Gianna Milani , and Wendy Williams.

Defective Merchandise – Refund Policy

• CUSTOMERS are entitled to return products ONLY under the following circumstances: demonstrable manufacturing issue (defective on origin), or item received not in conformity with the order specifications on file.
• If a defective product is received, the CUSTOMER will have 10 days upon reception to provide the appropriate evidence through franksfootwear@yahoo.com
• Franks International Footwear will examine the evidence provided in order to decide if there has been a production issue. In such event, the CUSTOMER will be offered a compensation discount at first instance if they are willing to keep the item. If the CUSTOMER refuses to keep the item, Franks International Footwear will send a label so the order can be returned for inspection and potential repair. If the order cannot be repaired, Franks International Footwear will offer the possibility to remake the item or use the amount paid in a new order.
• In the event a production defect cannot be clearly identified by examining the provided evidence,  Franks International Footwear will send a return label whose cost shall be born by the CUSTOMER. If it is decided that the defect can be attributed to Franks International Footwear, the shipping cost paid by the CUSTOMER will be refunded. Franks International Footwear will offer the possibility to remake the item or use the amount paid in a new order.
• Products must be returned in new condition (no visible wear on the upper or sole of the shoe; no visible creases or stretch marks on belts), and with the original packaging.
• If any of the above conditions is not met, Franks International Footwear reserves the right to reject the return, and not apply any of the options above mentioned.
